Volunteering
Training a new Community Pastor or refreshing the training of an experienced volunteer is a priority for us. We have developed a compact but comprehensive programme of core modules designed to cover physical, emotional and spiritual issues with diverse topics including first aid, drugs awareness, mental health issues, listening skills or spiritual counselling. We recommend that trainees complete the programme of nine modules during a 12-month period before being commissioned.
If you go up to a Community Pastor on patrol and ask them; “Which church are you from?”, the likely response will be “All of them.” Volunteers come from local churches of many different denominations, traditions and walks of life.
